The liquid fertilizer filling machine is the final production unit that converts a stable liquid fertilizer batch into a finished, sellable product. It fills bottles, jerry cans, and drums accurately, cleanly, and quickly, with the dosing and anti-foam controls needed for corrosive, viscous, and foaming fertilizer liquids.

LANE Machinery supplies semi-automatic and fully automatic liquid fertilizer filling machines from 100 ml bottles to 30 L drums, with corrosion-resistant stainless steel contact parts, +/-0.2% weighing accuracy, anti-foam and anti-drip nozzles, PLC control, and optional capping, labeling, and coding stations.

Product Overview

The LANE liquid fertilizer filling machine is a liquid dosing and packaging system designed for fertilizer service. It receives liquid fertilizer from a storage tank or buffer tank, measures the fill volume or weight, and dispenses it into containers without dripping, foaming, or contamination.

Filling type is selected by product characteristics:

  • Gravity or flowmeter filling for clear, low-viscosity liquids.
  • Gear pump or rotor pump filling for liquids with solids and suspensions.
  • Piston filling for viscous products.
  • Weighing filling for high-accuracy bottle, jerry can, and drum filling.

Contact parts are made of SS304 or SS316L stainless steel with corrosion-resistant seals, so the machine can handle water-soluble fertilizers, liquid NPK, organic liquids, and micronutrient formulations.

Features and Advantages

Corrosion-resistant contact parts

  • SS304 or SS316L contact parts with PTFE or FKM seals.
  • Resistant to chloride ions, acids, and aggressive fertilizer chemistry.
  • Detachable filling valves and quick-release nozzles for easy cleaning.
  • Material certificates and third-party inspection available.

High filling accuracy

  • Weighing filling provides accuracy of +/-0.2% for drums and jerry cans.
  • Flowmeter and piston filling provide repeatable volume control.
  • Load cells and PLC feedback adjust filling parameters automatically.
  • Filling volume can be changed quickly on the HMI.

Anti-foam and anti-drip design

  • Diving nozzles fill from the bottom of the container to reduce foam.
  • Two-speed filling: fast bulk fill, then slow final stage for accuracy.
  • Suck-back or anti-drip valve prevents liquid loss after each fill.
  • No bottle, no fill detection prevents waste.

Flexible container changeover

  • Change parts for bottles, jerry cans, and drums.
  • Filling range from 100 ml to 30 L on one machine platform.
  • Adjustable conveyor height and container centering.
  • Quick-change nozzles reduce changeover time between formulas.

PLC control and production integration

  • PLC and HMI store filling recipes for different products and containers.
  • Counters, alarms, and data logging support production management.
  • Can be connected to a storage tank, conveyor, capping machine, labeling machine, and coding machine.
  • Optional remote monitoring for troubleshooting and support.

Safety and cleanability

  • Emergency stop, safety guards, and leak protection.
  • CIP and manual rinse options.
  • Waste gas connection point for filling areas with strong odors.
  • Five-year warranty, spare parts, and overseas installation support.

Working Principle

The working principle of the liquid fertilizer filling machine depends on the filling method, but every LANE machine follows the same sequence:

  1. Liquid fertilizer is pumped from the storage tank to the machine buffer tank or directly to the filling nozzles.
  2. Empty bottles, jerry cans, or drums are placed or conveyed under the filling heads.
  3. The nozzle dives into the container and starts filling at high speed.
  4. The machine switches to slow speed near the target volume or weight to avoid overshoot and foaming.
  5. When the target is reached, the valve closes and the suck-back system prevents dripping.
  6. Filled containers move to capping, sealing, labeling, or coding.
  7. The machine returns to the next container automatically or waits for the next manual placement.

For weighing filling, load cells measure the product weight in real time and stop the valve at the target weight. For flowmeter filling, the PLC controls the valve based on flow rate. For piston filling, a fixed piston stroke delivers a repeatable volume.

Application in a Liquid Fertilizer Production Line

The filling machine is the last processing step in a complete liquid fertilizer production line:

Raw material storage -> Mixing tank -> Reactor or fermentation tank -> Filtration -> Homogenization -> Storage tank -> Filling machine -> Capping -> Labeling -> Palletizing

In this configuration:

  • The storage tank holds the finished product before filling.
  • The filling machine doses product into bottles, jerry cans, or drums.
  • Capping and sealing protect the product from leakage and contamination.
  • Labeling and coding provide the product information required by the market.

LANE supplies the filling machine as a single unit or as part of a complete liquid fertilizer production line with mixing, fermentation, reaction, filtration, storage, capping, labeling, and CIP systems.

Application Scope

  • Water-soluble NPK fertilizers in bottles and pouches.
  • Foliar fertilizers in 100 ml to 5 L bottles.
  • Liquid NPK in 5 L to 25 L jerry cans.
  • Organic liquid fertilizer and biofertilizer in bottles and drums.
  • Suspension fertilizers in drums with agitation-compatible product feed.
  • Chelated micronutrient solutions in small and medium containers.
  • Liquid fertilizer products for fertigation, drip irrigation, and foliar application.

Quality, Standards, and Certification

LANE manufactures liquid fertilizer filling machines under an ISO 9001 quality management system and can supply CE-certified equipment. Contact parts are selected for corrosion resistance and cleanability, with material certificates available for traceability.

Machine design follows packaging industry best practices, including no bottle no fill protection, anti-drip valves, safety guards, and emergency stop. For explosive or solvent-containing products, explosion-proof electrical components and ATEX-rated options are available.

For liquid fertilizer products exported to the European Union, the final product must meet Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 labeling and contaminant requirements. LANE’s filling line supports accurate net content, clean changeover, and labeling, and we recommend independent certification of the final product by the relevant authority.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which filling method should I choose?

Clear, low-viscosity liquids can use flowmeter or gravity filling. Suspensions and liquids with solids are better handled by gear pump or rotor pump filling. Viscous products need piston filling. High-accuracy bottle, jerry can, and drum filling is best handled by weighing filling. LANE recommends the method based on your actual product.

Can one machine fill both small bottles and large drums?

Yes. Change parts allow one machine to handle bottles, jerry cans, and drums. The filling range and speed are configured for your container sizes, and the PLC stores recipes for each container and product.

How accurate is the filling machine?

Weighing filling typically provides +/-0.2% accuracy. Volume filling accuracy depends on product viscosity, container size, and feeding system, with typical tolerance of +/-1 g to +/-3 g. LANE confirms the expected accuracy with your product before delivery.

How do you prevent foam and dripping?

Diving nozzles fill from the bottom of the container, two-speed filling reduces foaming at the end of the cycle, and suck-back valves prevent dripping between containers. For strongly foaming products, the nozzle and speed profile are customized.

Can the filling machine be integrated with capping and labeling?

Yes. LANE supplies complete filling lines including conveyors, capping machines, labeling machines, coding machines, and optional palletizing. The whole line is controlled and synchronized through the PLC system.

How is the machine cleaned between different formulas?

Contact parts are detachable for quick manual cleaning, and CIP options are available for automated cleaning. Material selection is matched to the product so that changeover does not damage seals or valves.

What certificates and warranty do you provide?

Equipment can be supplied with ISO 9001 certification, CE marking, and material certificates. LANE provides a five-year warranty, spare parts support, and overseas installation and commissioning services.
