What is the difference between a buffer tank and a storage tank?
A storage tank holds product for inventory or long-term storage. A buffer tank holds a smaller working volume to smooth the flow between process steps and keep downstream machines supplied. A plant normally has both: storage tanks for capacity and buffer tanks for continuity.
Why does a filling line need a buffer tank?
A filling machine needs a stable supply at a consistent level and pressure. The buffer tank prevents air from entering the suction line, absorbs the difference between batch production and packaging speed, and allows the line to keep running during a short upstream delay.
Can a buffer tank keep suspension fertilizer from settling?
