Vertical Crusher

Vertical Crusher for crushing organic fertilizer materials and compound fertilizer raw materials. Processes compost, livestock manure, fertilizer blocks, and mineral materials into uniform particles. High crushing efficiency, low energy consumption, and ideal for fertilizer production lines.

  • Capacity : 1–20 TPH (Customized)
  • Layout Design Support : Provided
  • Warranty Period : 5-year
  • Certification : CE / ISO / SGS available

Caked fertilizer lumps, returned oversized granules, moderately wet raw materials — these are the daily headaches of a fertilizer production line. The LANE vertical crusher solves them with a simple design decision: no screen, no grate bottom. Material is crushed by high-speed impact inside a vertical chamber and falls straight through, so there is nothing to clog and nothing to burn out when moisture rises.

Why Production Managers Choose the Vertical Crusher

1. No screen or grate — the clogging problem is designed out

Traditional crushers fail on damp material because their screens blind over. The vertical crusher’s open bottom discharge means material with moisture up to ~25% passes through continuously. Less downtime, no screen replacement costs.

2. Crushes and never over-crushes

The impact-and-fall action breaks lumps to size and lets fines drop out immediately, instead of grinding everything into dust. You get usable particles, not powder loss.

3. Perfect for recycled oversize material

In compound fertilizer production, off-spec oversized granules from the screening stage can be returned to the vertical crusher and re-processed — closing the loop and cutting raw material waste.

4. Compact vertical footprint

The vertical structure occupies far less floor space than horizontal crushers of the same capacity. It slots easily under an existing screening tower or between conveyors.

5. Anti-corrosion, anti-wear internals

Chamber liners and hammers/chains use wear-resistant alloy. For corrosive fertilizer salts, the contact surfaces are treated for extended service life.

Vertical Crusher

How It Works

  1. Material enters from the top inlet and falls into the vertical crushing chamber.
  2. A high-speed spindle with hammers (or chains) strikes the material against the surrounding liner plates.
  3. Crushed particles fall by gravity through the open bottom — no screen resistance.
  4. Discharge connects directly to a belt conveyor or the next process stage.

Because gravity does the discharging, throughput stays stable even as material moisture fluctuates through the day.

Applications

  • Compound fertilizer (NPK) plants — crushing caked urea, DAP, MOP and returned oversize granules
  • Organic fertilizer plants — breaking fermented material clumps before granulation
  • Chemical industry — salts, additives and moderately moist chemical lumps
  • Building materials & mining — gypsum, coal gangue, limestone lumps of medium hardness

Vertical Crusher vs. Chain Crusher vs. Semi-Wet Crusher — Which One Do You Need?

Your Situation Recommended Machine
Dry-to-slightly-damp fertilizer lumps, NPK caking Chain Crusher
Moderately wet material, recycled oversize granules, tight floor space Vertical Crusher (this page)
High-moisture organic material (25%–50%), manure & compost Semi-Wet Material Crusher

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What’s the maximum moisture this machine can handle?

A: Around 25% as a rule of thumb. For wetter organic materials (manure, compost at 25%–50%), our semi-wet material crusher is the right tool — we’ll steer you to the correct machine based on your numbers.

Q: Does the open bottom mean uncontrolled particle size?

A: Output fineness is controlled by rotor speed and the hammer-to-liner clearance, typically achieving ≤3 mm. If you need a guaranteed top size, tell us your spec and we’ll confirm achievable results for your material.

Q: How often do wear parts need replacing?

A: Hammers and liners are consumables; lifetime depends on material abrasiveness. Both are bolt-on replaceable in under an hour, and spare sets ship with the machine.

Q: Can it run continuously in a 24/7 line?

A: Yes, it is designed for continuous duty within its rated capacity. We recommend routine inspection of wear parts per the manual.
