Straw Crusher Machine

Straw Crusher Machine for crushing crop straw, agricultural residues, and biomass materials. Processes wheat straw, rice straw, corn stalks, hay, and forage into uniform particles. High crushing efficiency, low energy consumption, and ideal for composting, organic fertilizer production, and biomass processing lines.

  • Capacity : 1–20 TPH (Customized)
  • Layout Design Support : Provided
  • Warranty Period : 5-year
  • Certification : CE / ISO / SGS available

Crop straw is free carbon-rich feedstock — if you can size it down. Whole corn stalks and wheat straw compost slowly and mix poorly; crushed to 3–20 mm, the same material ferments weeks faster and blends evenly with manure. The LANE straw crusher machine does that sizing in one pass, with an interchangeable screen to hit whatever output size your process needs.

Why Buyers Choose This Straw Crusher

1. One machine, many raw materials

Corn stalks, wheat and rice straw, soybean stems, cotton stalks, peanut shells, palm fronds, dry grass and vines — hammer crushing with a swappable screen handles them all. One machine covers your whole seasonal residue stream.

2. Adjustable output size by screen change

Swap the screen mesh to switch output between roughly 3 mm and 20 mm . Fine output for fertilizer granulation and feed; coarser output for compost bulking and biomass fuel.

3. Faster composting, better C/N control

Crushed straw exposes far more surface area to microbes. Blended with livestock manure, it balances the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio and cuts fermentation time — the difference between a compost pile and a production schedule.

4. Hardened hammers, balanced rotor

Hammers are high-manganese steel and reversible for double service life. The rotor is dynamically balanced at the factory, so the machine runs smoothly at full speed without shaking your foundation.

5. Flexible power options

Electric motor drive for in-plant installation, or diesel-engine version for field and off-grid operation.

How It Works

  1. Dry straw is fed into the inlet (manual or conveyor feeding).
  2. High-speed hammers shatter the material against the toothed liner.
  3. Particles that reach target size pass through the screen; oversize pieces stay in the chamber until fully crushed.
  4. Crushed straw discharges via the outlet — optionally with a blower/cyclone for direct bagging or stockpiling.

Applications

  • Organic fertilizer plants — carbon source preparation for manure composting
  • Livestock farms — bedding material and coarse feed processing
  • Biomass energy — pre-crushing before pelletizing or briquetting
  • Mushroom cultivation — substrate raw material preparation
  • Straw recycling stations — volume reduction for storage and transport

Why Choose LANE

  • Composting know-how included — as a fertilizer equipment manufacturer, we advise on straw-to-manure ratios and particle size for your specific fermentation process, not just the machine itself.
  • Factory-direct — manufacturer pricing, spare hammers and screens shipped with the machine.
  • Export-ready — seaworthy packaging, documentation, and voltage matched to your country.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can it crush wet or fresh straw?

A: Best performance is with dry straw (≤15% moisture). Fresh, green material tends to wrap and clog hammer mills; if your feedstock is wet, tell us — a different cutting-type configuration may suit better.

Q: What output size do I need for composting?

A: For manure co-composting, 10–20 mm is typically ideal — small enough to ferment fast, coarse enough to keep the pile aerated. For granulation feedstock, go finer (3–5 mm).

Q: How often do hammers and screens need replacement?

A: Both are consumables. Hammers are reversible (flip when one edge dulls), and screens swap in minutes. Replacement frequency depends on throughput and material; spare sets are included with delivery.

Q: Can I crush wood branches with it?

A: Thin, dry twigs in small amounts, yes — but for branches and logs you need our Wood Chipper, which is built for solid wood.
