The Flat Die Granulator uses mechanical compression to turn prepared fertilizer, feed, biomass and cat litter materials into cylindrical pellets. A rotating roller presses the material through a horizontal die, while an adjustable cutter controls pellet length. Its compact structure supports small production lines, pilot projects and flexible material testing.
The LA series flat die granulator is a compact pelletizing machine for converting prepared powder or fine granular materials into cylindrical pellets. A rotating roller presses the material through holes in a flat die, and a cutting system separates the extruded strands into pellets of the required length.
The machine is suitable for small and medium production tasks in fertilizer, feed, biomass and cat litter processing. It is often selected when the project needs a compact structure, straightforward operation and flexible material testing before moving to a larger continuous production system.
The final capacity and pellet quality depend on the material formulation, moisture, particle size, fiber content, density, die opening and operating conditions. The machine should be selected after confirming that the material has suitable flowability and pelletizing behavior.

1. Material preparation
The feed material is crushed, screened and mixed to create a consistent blend. If the material is too dry, it may not hold together after passing through the die. If it is too wet, it may stick to the die, block the holes or produce deformed pellets.
For fertilizer applications, the raw materials should be proportioned before mixing. For feed, biomass or cat litter applications, the preparation process depends on the material’s fiber, moisture and binding characteristics.
2. Feeding into the pelletizing chamber
The prepared material enters the chamber through the feeding inlet. Stable feeding helps maintain an even material layer on the die and reduces fluctuations in pellet quality.
A suitable feeder can be added when the material is light, difficult to flow or required to run continuously.
3. Compression through the flat die
The roller rotates over the die surface and compresses the material into the die openings. Pressure and friction create a compact extruded strand below the die. The material’s ability to bind under pressure affects pellet density and durability.
The die opening determines the approximate pellet diameter. Different die designs can be used for different product requirements.
4. Cutting and discharge
A cutter separates the extruded strands into pellets. Cutter position and operating speed affect pellet length. The finished pellets fall through the discharge outlet and can then be screened, cooled, dried or packed as required.

Compact equipment design
The machine occupies less space than many large continuous granulation systems. This makes it useful for small plants, pilot projects and workshops with limited floor area.
Flexible die selection
Different die openings can be selected for different pellet diameters. The final die should match the material and product specification.
Straightforward operation
The operating process is relatively direct: prepare the material, feed it into the chamber, compress it through the die and cut the extruded strands. Operators still need to control moisture, feed rate and machine load.
Convenient material testing
The compact structure makes it practical for testing different formulations before investing in a larger production line. Test results should be recorded for pellet strength, output and energy requirements.
Suitable for multiple industries
The same basic pelletizing principle can be used for selected fertilizer, feed, biomass and cat litter materials. Each application requires its own preparation process and die configuration.
Easy line integration
The machine can connect with a crusher, mixer, feeder, conveyor, screener, cooler, dryer and packing machine to form a customized small production line.
